The hospitality industry is one of the UK’s largest employers, and a sector where a large proportion of our pest management and washroom services work comes from.
It is therefore important to us to support the industry and its fundraising initiatives, which is why we always enjoy attending the National Restaurateurs’ Dinner.
This year, to mark its 30th anniversary, the event at The Dorchester in London raised money for some fantastic industry charities: The Academy of Food & Wine Service in conjunction with the Wine Guild of the United Kingdom, The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts and The Restaurant Association.
“The National Restaurateurs’ Dinner is a very important fundraising event for the hospitality industry,” said Harvey Environmental Services’ managing director, Martin Harvey.
“The charities that benefit from the annual event share the same aim of maintaining the profile and esteem of the hospitality industry while working towards setting higher standards both front and back of house.”
A menu created and prepared by a team of high profile, award-winning chefs is served to guests at the annual dinner before the fundraising gets under way with an auction. Prizes at this year’s event included hull hospitality at Champions Day at Ascot, an exclusive experience at The Ritz and a two-night stay at the Hotel de Rome in Berlin.
Martin added: “Not only does the National Restaurateurs’ Dinner raise incredible sums of money for hospitality charities, it is also a fantastic chance to network with key figures from the industry. It’s always an enjoyable evening and it was great to catch up with old friends, make some new contacts and see people donating so generously to the charities at the event.”
