Months of hard work and study has been rewarded for our administrator Deborah Wood who has passed the RSPH Level 2 Award in Pest Management.
Deborah, who has just celebrated her ten-year anniversary at Harvey Environmental Services, wanted to complete the industry accreditation to gain a more in-depth knowledge of the pest control industry.
She said: “I’ve been one of the first points of contact for customers ringing Harvey HQ for a decade now, and have become increasingly aware of the common pest problems they face and the changing legislation they must meet.
“I wanted to build on this and gain a much better understanding of their needs and how we can help quickly and efficiently.
“Studying alongside my day job was hard work and the final exam was extremely tough so I was delighted to pass the qualification first time. I’m already excited about implementing some new ideas based on what I have learnt to further improve the service we are able to offer customers.”
It is mandatory for pest control technicians to hold BPCA qualifications such as the RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management, but it is rare for office-based staff to also achieve the standard.
Managing director Martin Harvey added: “Most of our customers will have spoken to Deborah at some point during their time with us, so we felt it was important she was able to confidently speak to them about their pest control needs and the regulations they must meet by law.
“She worked really hard to study for the qualification and we are all delighted that she excelled in her final exam. Her new knowledge and understanding of the industry will help us to operate more efficiently and effectively and it is another example of how we are leading the way in the pest control industry in terms of professionalism and expertise.”
